This kitchen started out with a very awkward layout and extremely dated feel. Marnie came in with a timeless, classic and fresh design. She completely transformed the feeling of the entire main floor of this home by taking out an awkward half wall that made entertaining next to impossible. She created a more open feel between the kitchen and the eating area as well as the adjoining family room.
She chose classic white shaker cabinets and classic white beveled subway tile that surround the window. She chose a black with white veining Soapstone for the counters. Added cabinets to the nine foot ceilings which made the room appear twice as large. Placed lights inside the glass front upper cabinets and under counter lights as well. She replaced old appliances with top of the line technology. All floors were replaced with a classic medium brown Bamboo five inch wide wood board. Dated oak orange wood was either removed or painted. She added three pendant lights over the ten foot island and moved the cooktop to the wall counter so the island is free of any obstructions. The result is an island just waiting for you to roll out cookies or lay out a beautiful buffet for family or guests. Marnie added a creamy paint color to the walls that complements the gorgeous finishes in the kitchen and the rest of the main floor.
